Houseplants
At Carpenter’s we have one of the best selections of houseplants in St Albans & Harpenden. We stock a wide range of plants to suit all budgets and tastes from cacti and mini- succulents to add interest to a bright windowsill or a large statement monstera plant or palm for your lounge or conservatory. We also sell flowering plants and plants with coloured and decorative leaves such as Anthuriums and Calathea that will brighten up any room. Many of our plants come complete with a decorative pot which makes an excellent gift, or you can choose your own pot from our great range of hand selected pots to suit your taste. We are also happy to gift wrap plants.
Houseplants have become increasingly popular over the last few years as studies have shown that they provide mental and physical health benefits by filtering and oxygenating the air. They make the perfect decorative addition to all rooms of your home and can offer a nice contrast to neutral tones.
Working from home? Surround yourself with a selection of beautiful plants that will not only help to remove toxins from the air but also promote wellbeing by giving your workspace interest and a calming green palate for your eyes. Choose from a variety of leaf shapes, colours and textures to give interest and add a seasonal flowering plant to boost your display. Caring for houseplants is easy - most just need a bright position, out of full sun, away from draughts and heat sources. Give them a monthly feed over the summer months and don’t be tempted to over water them. Follow the basics and they will give you many years of pleasure.
Our houseplant team are very knowledgeable and are happy to give advice and tips on their care. If there is a particular plant you’re looking for that we don’t have in stock we are always happy to source it for you.
Succulents & Cacti
Do you usually kill plants through neglect, but would still like to add some greenery to your home? Then succulents and Cacti are great option! They are also a great first plant for children to get into horticulture.
Succulents originally grew in areas with extreme hot, dry and cold conditions. They can survive in such locations by storing water in the leaves of the plants. If these plants can survive in a desert, they can certainly manage your living room or conservatory! They come in all shapes and sizes, and some succulents even flower.
Cacti are also well suited to life in dry and hot conditions and as long as you don't over-water you are guaranteed success. Call in to see us today and choose from our range of easy to keep indoor plants.
