Potted Bulbs

At Carpenter’s garden centre in St Albans you will find all the popular varieties of Spring flowering bulbs available to purchase in packets from September to November. However, if you don’t have the time to plant them out then we also stock ready-potted bulbs from January through to March.  These include all the popular spring flowering bulbs such as Snowdrops, Crocus, Daffodils, Tulips and Alliums.   

Dahlia, Gladioli, Crocosmia, Lillies and other summer flowering bulbs are available to purchase in bulb form from January ready for potting-on.  These are also offered as ready-potted plants from late spring. 

Bulbs are perennials (return year after year) and are very low maintenance so ideal for novice gardeners.  They offer a beautiful array of colour that signals the end of winter and onset of warmer spring weather!

Top Tip- Always plant bulbs three times their depth to help them support themselves.  They also don’t like to be planted in waterlogged heavy clay soils.  If you have this type of soil, mix in some grit and soil conditioner to help with drainage (all available in-store).
