Make Your Patio and Garden Look Fabulous with Pots, Containers and Baskets

By carpentersAdmin | Featured Tips, Tips of the Month | Comments are Closed | 2 June, 2017 | 0

As we move into summer there should hopefully be a lot more opportunities to spend time outdoors, so now is a really great time to start adding some beautiful plants and decorative pots to your outdoor spaces. Whether you have a garden, a patio, a deck, or a balcony, some well thought out container plants can look fantastic, and even if you don’t have any outdoor space you can still use window boxes and hanging baskets to achieve some fabulous looks for your home’s exterior.

    Hanging Baskets

Hanging baskets are a very easy way to add plants to the outside of your house, and can look just as pretty when coordinated with a beautiful front garden or when used alone on houses with no outdoor spaces. You aren’t just limited to flowers with hanging baskets either, and can also use them to grow some edible things including tomatoes and strawberries. Plants that can look great in a hanging basket include Petunias, Begonias, Geraniums and Surfinias, and you can get a great aroma from your hanging baskets too by including lavender. If you are green fingered, it can be fun to put together your own hanging basket, however if you want all the results without that step, you can also get your hanging basket put together by one of our in-house experts who will create a basket to your own requirements. We also have lots of different types of readymade hanging baskets

    Potted Trees

If you have some outdoor space where you can’t plant anything directly, a great way to add a stunning natural feature is with a potted tree. You can choose from all different kinds of trees to use in this way, so it is down to you whether you want one that for example bears fruit, is evergreen, or has pretty blossom. From conifers to fruit trees, there is a wide choice when it comes to attractive trees that can happily grow in a container on your patio, deck or balcony.

    Terracotta Pots and Troughs

Terracotta can give that classic, warm look that is just perfect with your plants, and choosing high quality terracotta pots, troughs and other containers is an easy way to add an affordable, uniform look to your garden. Whether you prefer simple designs that don’t draw attention away from the plants themselves or something more decorative that looks attractive even when your flowers are not in bloom or your trees and bushes are bare, terracotta is ideal.

    Stone Containers

If you would like to add a more period look to your container plants and pots, then pretty stone can be another good choice. It looks robust yet regal, and can gain character over time, further enhancing the design you have chosen for your outdoor space.

There are lots of ways to add beautiful features using flowers, trees, shrubs and other plants in attractive baskets, pots and containers, so why not see what great looks you can create outside your home?
